Telehealth is covered by most insurance plans as well. If your insurance declines to cover visit(s) for any reason, you are responsible for the full amount. Upon request, we can also provide you with a Superbill to submit to insurance yourself for possible reimbursement. Payment is due in full at the time of service.

"Insurance plans can be different, and not all of them cover nutrition counseling the same way. To help you get ready for your visit, ask your insurance company these questions to understand what they will pay for and what costs you might have:

  • Does my plan cover nutrition counseling?

  • Are there rules about which health problems are covered?

  • Is Z71.3 (dietary counseling and surveillance) covered, or do I need a medical reason?

  • Do I need a referral or special approval?

  • Is telehealth (online) nutrition counseling covered?

  • How many visits are allowed?

  • Do I have to meet a deductible first? Can it be waived for preventive care?

  • Will I have a copay or coinsurance?

  • Is nutrition care included in my plan? (You may need to ask for my NPI. Contact me for that.)
